i bought a fleece on sunday. i really didn't mean to, but the allure of it was just too great. i intended to leave the common ground fair with some soap and some seeds and maybe a little bit of angora or alpaca. (check on the first three, kind of sort of kicking myself for not buying any of the last. it least i took some pictures of some incredibly cute alpaca! redundant, i know. i don't believe that there is such a thing as an uncute alpaca, is there?)
i even left this tent empty handed at one point, but i was back by the end of the day.
the tables were pretty full, even though we went on the last day of the fair. i would have loved to have seen what it looked like when they opened on the first day. the fleece i eventually picked is 6 lbs from a local island romney cross, with hardly a speck of vm to be found. the fleece is shiny and soft and awesome. will take some pictures soon. really, it is so pretty and it will make a good sturdy base for many, many a batt to come. i am excited.
natasha loved seeing farm animals and spent a lot of time conversing with the alpaca. they are so chatty! i know that a day of fiber and organic growing related fun is not exactly as jump-up-and-down exciting for my family the way it is for me. it looks like the girl had a good time though, no?
