i got to spend a good chunk of the day at home today. i am so used to being at home when it's dark, or gloomy and getting dark, or gloomy and not quite that light out, so used to cursing artificial light. sunlight through the windows feels like such a luxury! i stumbled around the house with my camera for a while before walking the dog and enjoying a little bit of this weird january thaw + melt that we are having.

we had after school coffee and then dinner with good friends too. good grownup talk with simultaneous fun play for kids. i feel really lucky today.
