i knit these socks for N a year ago and hadn't been able to get her to stand still long enough to get a picture of them. the pattern is from my beloved knitting vintage socks by nancy bush. it's the baby bootikins pattern (rav link) only heavy on the modification tip so that they are soooooo not baby (very important!) and more knee sock than bootikin. (i'm liking that word.) as i said, this was over a year ago, so i don't know exactly how my designer and i modded these, but i know that, as per her specifications, we made them longer, changed the top portion so that it blossomed out less, and made the heel and toe stockinette instead of garter stitch. here's a rav project link with a few more details.
nothing to do with socks: there is a crazy rain storm going on here right now, but i got to see a really super sunset the other day. if the sun is going to set at way-too-early o'clock, it's nice when it's a least pretty.
also, i am keeping track of the books i read this year. i added a page link on the sidebar. maybe i'm getting my brain out of the lovely, snuggly baby fog and i'll be able to get through a book a week this year. that's the plan anyway.
