greta turned one on sunday. amazing. i have been spending so much time thinking about all that i have to be grateful for, getting stuck in my tracks every time i start to complain about something petty, seeing how small my worries really are in the grand scheme of things.
we're playing peek-a-boo a lot this morning. she thinks it's hilarious. her latest take on it involves hiding behind a ball of yarn. she has three teeth. she takes these teeny, shuffley steps, maybe two or three at time, before she plops down on her bum and crawls, crawls like the wind, so fast. she's tiny. small for her age, at least in weight, and we think it's just that she's burning through her calories like crazy. she's always bouncing, moving, going. she likes hairbrushes more than any of her toys and i often find one stashed in my bag where she has hidden it, presumably for safe keeping. she'll alternate chewing on one end with attempting to brush what little hair she has. hilarious. she squeals with absolute delight every time we let her climb up the stairs. she leans her cheek against ours (or against the dog, or the cats, or a toy she likes) to hug. she is pure sweetness. she nurses lots, snuggles lots, laughs at her sister lots. as with her sister before her, i can't believe how much joy one tiny person can bring into the world.
happy happy! :) <3 <3 <3

Congratulations Aprill! Your post brings back so many sweet memories of my 2 girls. I'm with you counting my many blessings in the face of what are really minor irritations. How lucky we are! Greta is beautiful (as is her sweater)!

Aprill, as always, that Greta is almost enough to tempt a firm believer in one's complete family that just one more could be really nice! Happy Birthday to her.
